I hope you have all had a productive week that included time to rest, reflect and regenerate. I find that a weekly pilates class, and regular walks in my beautiful community here in the SW Berkshires does wonders for finding refreshed energy for the work we have ahead of us.
So this week…yikes. The good news is that it seems America (all of it) is starting to wake up to the disturbing—no, let's call it what it is—terrifying--realities that are facing us. And they are doing something about it.
From NO Show Town Halls, to the crowds for Bernie and AOC, to the street protests, to the boycotts in ALL the states, we have witnessed an awakening that is only going to get stronger as the outrages become more outrageous.
Below is a brief summary of what’s been happening.
THE RESISTANCE IS ALIVE, WELL AND GROWING STRONGER
Every single day we see more and more Americans taking to the streets, town halls, phones, and strategically leveraging their spending habits which is being heard loud and clear by those who would literally destroy our history, earned well-being, and aspirations for the future. We are no longer waiting for the people who work for us in DC. With the exception of a handful they have been silent and ineffective. It is up to us to wake them up or replace them with our voices and action. It is a multi-front resistance that includes all forms of peaceful and powerful push-back that collectively is and will make a difference. We are the heroes we’ve been waiting for.

POTENTIAL BOYCOTT ALERT—SOCIAL SECURITY/MEDICARE/MEDICAID
I don’t know about you, but the demise of this critical department would be devastating to our household despite what Howard Lutnick has to say and is already wreaking havoc with some of our most vulnerable. AARP advocates for over 100 million Americans. That’s a lot of firepower. I’m willing to give it a little time—although time is not on our side—to see how/if effective these steps have been. Lets check in next week to see how it's going. In the meantime, consider how we might leverage the huge membership they have to convince them they need to apply more pressure in DC.

ONWARD!
RESISTANCE 2025 was launched on February 7, 2025 in response to the complete failure of our representatives in Washington DC to act with strength, purpose, and righteous anger. It was my way of DOING SOMETHING. Since its launch 50 days ago, the site has hosted nearly 1000 visitors from every state in the US with the exception of North Dakota—including visitors from 15 countries worldwide.
