The Real "man-problem"
The wake-up alarm for women that never stops ringing.
There is a lot to grapple with right now. The last thing we need is one more “cause” to add to the litany of important issues that are breaking our brains. Sorry, but I’m about to give you one more. It has to do with “the man problem” we have been discussing in this country recently. It is a problem that is blind to race, economic standing, education and politics. I’d like to suggest that this issue is not unique to young men. That perhaps what they are experiencing is a symptom of something more widely spread and pernicious. Its about men in general. As a 70 yr old woman who has suffered my share of BS from men in the workplace, at home, at the hands of a man dominated government and society I agree, we definitely have a man problem. Its called misogyny, plain and simple.
So to all my sisters and right thinking men out there, I’d like to suggest we take the moment we have been given and, in addition to addressing all the other wrongs we are speaking out about, take the opportunity to re-define for the times a cross cultural, serious issue that is playing a huge role in taking down our democracy. It is present in every aspect of our lives and in many cases becoming law. We are once again faced with invasive mandates that take the control of our bodies (and therefore our beings) out of our hands and puts them in the hands of the government (aka men) even to the extent that large tech companies (META) are being sued for tracking women’s menstrual cycles which, to my mind, is so invasive and creepy that it borders on deviant behavior and should be classified as stalking or rape. And please notice there is not one effort to include men in any of these actions. Has there been any legislation put forward to mandate vasectomies for boys/men to share in the mutual responsibility/consequences of their actions? No. We are also watching our government officials covering up what appears to be a coven of sexual predators that includes some (many?) of these very politicians. Are we now at a place and time when we are sanctioning the use of women and girls as young as 14 as sex and/or baby making slaves? Yes, I think we are on the precipice of doing so.
So what’s the remedy? Voting these men and complicit women out of office is a start but will not solve what is a deeply embedded, ages old problem that raises its ugly head (no pun intended) over and over again to wreak havoc on women.
So, understanding that this is a universal woman problem it is time (again) to come together and fight back. We cannot allow misogynistic men to create a country, a world where women have no voice, no autonomy, no power. If we allow this they will manhandle a world where women are literally disappeared into the fever dreams of toxic, power hungry and insecure men. Women and right thinking men everywhere must unite. Women and right thinking men everywhere must fight back. Women and right thinking men everywhere must separate ourselves from the fray and declare our autonomy as a force that is bringing a reckoning. The time to step up and stand out is now. We’ve done it before, more than once. We know how to do this. Let’s go.
